The concho, derived from Spanish word for "shell," is a prominent motif in Native American jewelry, often as a silver oval or circle adorned with a central radiating design. Originally inspired by Plains Indians' hair ornaments and Spanish bridle decorations, conchos evolved into a distinct form of Navajo jewelry.

This Stamped Spoon Concho necklace was inspired by those Native American designs but feature a unique twist of being made from upcycled vintage spoons. I was playing around with shapes on the workbench and originally tried to make something similar to a Native American Squash Blossom necklace. This Tomato Server Lariat Necklace was the first creation in the collection. But as I saw a bunch of spoon bowls lying flat in a row, it just screamed "CONCHO NECKLACE".

The pendant is made from a large, slotted spoon shaped silverware piece - a tomato server that is adorned with a turquiose colored stone bead. The necklace portion is comprised of multiple flattened stamped spoon bowls linked together with jump rings. Each spoon bowl is stamped with an "X" as well as some arrows suggesting a Compass Rose design.

Please note, this item is an actual HANDmade silverware creation, not a cast replica of a handmade silverware creation. Every piece was hand cut, prepped, stamped and strung together in our studio

Size: 26" total length. Tomato server pendant ~2-3/4" x ~2-3/4". The spoon bowls vary slightly in size and shape but average about ~2-1/4" x ~1-3/8

For all our designs we choose wonderful vintage/antique silverplate cutlery. Once chosen, the pieces are modified and beautified by HAND; they are cut, drilled, filed and polished. We do not cast/mold any of our designs, they are all HANDmade, one-of-a-kind creations.

Condition: Please note, this is an antique item that was once used as a utensil. As a result, there may be some wear to the silver-plate, fine scratches or marks from use. But some wear gives the piece patina and personality. We do our best to disclose any condition issues of note.
